Emperus
- Location
- Rača, Serbia
- Type
- Plum and grape brandy
Slobodan Senić built the Emperus distillery in Šumadija, near Rača, carrying on his family's fruit-growing tradition. The first orchard of native plum varieties, Požegača and Rankovača, was planted in the autumn of 1953.
The rakijas are made from fruit from the distillery's own orchards and vineyards, combining traditional methods with German distilling technology. The range includes the plum rakijas Voždov grumen and Zlatni Voždov grumen, the grape rakija Žolta, Emperus 12, a blend of twelve plum distillates, and barrique-aged versions, along with a honey liqueur (medovača) and a raspberry liqueur.
