Vino Matić is a family winery from Trebižat near Čapljina. The ancestor Ante planted the first vineyard in 1870, and Ozrenko Matić is the sixth generation. Its 5.5 hectares or so lie on two sites: the Bodenik hills above Trebižat, at about 150 metres, and the Pijani hills east of Čapljina, at about 200 metres.
Žilavka, Blatina and Trnjak are grown without synthetic fertilisers or herbicides, fermentation relies on wild yeasts, and the winery holds GLOBALGAP certification. It fills around 50,000 bottles a year, including Žilavka Sur Lie and Blatina Da Capo.
